SafeMine is a EU-funded project and aims to develop a holistic and resilient PhD-Programme with a focus on increased mine safety, using the most up to date research data and carrying out studies on industry-driven, real scenarios and projects. Additionally, qualified professionals will be trained to lead the future of health and safety work in the European mining and tunnelling industry based on a modern view of these industries as attractive and safe workplaces.

Four leading European mining universities - Clausthal University of Technology (Germany), Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) - are working closely together with industrial partners in order to develop this PhD-Programme.

This action has received funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, under the H2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
